Zoom Connection Test

Please follow the instructions below to test your Zoom connection:

Navigate to the Zoom test page here:
https://zoom.us/test

Under Join Meeting Test, click Join:

You can now choose to test your connection using the Zoom desktop app or via your web browser. Many organisations security settings will restrict the ability to download and install the desktop app. This is fine – none of the additional features in the desktop app are necesarry to attend your class.

The following instructions are to test using the desktop app – click the button below to skip to the browser test instructions:

In the dialogue box, click Open Zoom Meetings. If there is no dialogue box click Download Now.

Now save the file to your preferred location:

Click the downloaded file to install and open Zoom:

Enter your name and click Join Meeting.

Click Test Speakers and Microphone.

Click Yes in the Do you see yourself? dialogue box if your webcam is displaying the expected video. If you have more than one webcam installed, you can choose which to use from this dialogue box.

You should now hear an electronic tone. Click Yes to confirm in the Do you hear a ringtone? dialogue box.

You can now test your mic.
Click Yes in the Speak and pause, do you hear a replay? dialogue box after you’ve tested this.

If your device has passed the Camera, Speaker and Microphone tests you can click End Test in the Your device is working properly dialogue box. Your device is configured correcty to join your Zoom classroom.

The following instructions will test your Zoom connection via your web browser:

Click Cancel if you have an open dialogue box.
Click Join from your browser.

You may now see a dialogue box stating zoom.us wants to use your microphone and camera.
Click Allow.

Enter your name and click Join.

You will now be asked to agree to Zoom’s terms of service and privicy policy.
Click I Agree.

If the test meeting window opens then your device is configured correcty to join your webex classroom.
