Maximising Microsoft Copilot

This is a half day, instructor-led course.
Copilot Chat (Basic) is an AI-powered productivity tool that helps users work more efficiently. It leverages the power of AI to boost productivity, unlock creativity, and helps you understand information better with a simple chat experience.
In this session we will explore practical ways to use Copilot Chat (Basic) in a work setting.
This session is aimed at all users of Copilot Chat (Basic) in a work setting.
To complete the course exercises you will need a Microsoft 365 account. You do not need a Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium) license for this session.
Learners do not need any experience with Microsoft Copilot.
This session is designed to use examples of Microsoft Copilot usage specific to the organisation and therefore information on common tasks will be needed to tailor the workshop. If such information is not available, the session will use generic business tasks such as writing presentations, meeting minutes and researching prospective customers or competitors.

Course Contents
The course will cover the following topics:
• Understand where Copilot Chat (Basic) fits within Microsoft 365 and how it differs from Microsoft 365 Copilot (Premium)
• Use Copilot Chat (Basic) to generate, summarise, analyse and refine content
• Improve everyday productivity tasks such as drafting text, creating presentations, researching information and preparing meeting outputs
• Work with images and visual prompts to create or interpret content
• Build stronger prompts using context, constraints, examples and iterative refinement
• Recognise common AI limitations, verify outputs and use Copilot safely with sensitive information
